foundries

To compliment my part time sculpture course at York College, and my fascination with metal casting, I have been doing works experience over the last 3 months in two foundries in Yorkshire – H Downs & Sons and Hargreaves Foundry. What an experience. In an industrial foundry it is cold, noisy, smelly, filthy, unique and I love it! The staff were incredibly patient and helpful and I would like to thank them for their time and generosity in sharing their knowledge. I feel the images speak for themselves.
