An unforgettable trip to Cape Town in December gave me the opportunity to shoot two fantastic subjects.
I spent a day at Nazareth House doing a shoot to produce images for their fundraising.
The charity is run by nuns from the UK and Ireland and they have a home for abandoned babies, children’s home, hospice and a home for the elderly. Much of their work is focused around caring for babies and adults who are hiv positive. The facilities and care were second to none, it was an inspirational experience.
I would like to thank all the residents, patients and staff who taught me so much about the people and politics of South Africa; the aids problem, and above all the sense of pride and optimism in their country’s future. I felt incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to gain such an insight. For more information on the work of Nazareth House please visit. www.nazhouse.org.za
I stayed at Derwent House Hotel run by Carol and Jo – the hostesses with the mostess! A fantastic oasis on Kloof Street near Table Mountain, they deserve every accolade they have received for their amazing attention to detail – I will be back… We spent an evening in a local park where I photographed their dogs – A unique and wonderful evening.
